Three Texas lawmakers have called on President Biden and Vice President Harris to travel to Lone Star State and visit the southern border amid the ongoing crisis.
Republican Senator John Cornyn, Republican Representative Tony Gonzalez and Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar co-authored an opinion piece in the Dallas Morning News on Tuesday, noting that border concerns have risen dramatically during the Biden administration.

“We agree, which is why we have spent so much time meeting with officials in Texas who are on the front lines of this humanitarian crisis,” they wrote, adding that they have seen the effects of cartels and criminal organizations abusing US immigration. the system.
They also highlighted their work with Cornyn’s fellow senator, Kirsten Senema, Democrat of Arizona, on bipartisan legislation armed with “comments” of “law enforcement, NGOs and community leaders who are expected to compensate for the failures of the federal government” at the border.
