And then there were five.
With the surge in Facebook posts today, all five of the big tech companies have passed the $1 trillion valuation level.
Facebook’s rally came after a federal court judge approved the company’s requests to dismiss dual antitrust cases brought by the Federal Trade Commission and a group of 48 state attorneys general.
This is the first time the US market has had five stocks with a 13-digit valuation.
Apple (stock ticker: AAPL) remains the world’s most valuable company, with $2.249 trillion, followed by Microsoft (MSFT) with $2.024 trillion. Amazon (AMZN) is worth $1.74 trillion, Google’s parent Alphabet (GOOGL) is worth $1.67 trillion, and Facebook (FB) is now worth $1.008 trillion. Microsoft crossed the $2 trillion mark for the first time last week.
(Saudi Arabian Oil Company (2222.SR), not traded in the US, has a valuation of $1.87 trillion).
After the five technical stocks, there is a significant decline in value. There are no other US listed stocks close to the trillion dollar mark. Six US listed companies with market valuations of over $500 billion, including TenCent (TCEHY), at $740 billion; Tesla (TSLA) at $663 billion, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-A) at $632 billion, Alibaba (BABA) at $620 billion, Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) at $620 billion, and Visa(V) at $515 billion .
