July 4th is more than just a national holiday for Julia Roberts – it’s also her wedding anniversary.
It’s been 19 years since the Academy Award winner married her husband Danny Moder on July 4, 2002 in a ceremony – reportedly attended by George Clooney and Bruce Willis – on her farm in Taos, New Mexico. The couple has three children: twins Hazel and Venus, who are 16, and son Henry, who is 14.
To mark the occasion, Roberts, 53, shared a rare selfie of herself and Moder, 52. The photo shows the couple long at the beach, with baseball cap Roberts wearing a baseball cap wrapping her arm around her husband while he dries up with a towel. .
“19 years,” star Erin Brockovich commented on the shot. “I just started.”
Roberts met Moder, now a cinematographer, when he worked as a photographer on the set of her 2001 film, Mexican. Roberts was previously married to singer Lyle Lovett from 1993 to 1995, while Moder’s divorce from his first wife, Vera Stimberg, was finalized in 2002.
In a 2015 interview with Extra, Roberts shared her secret to extending the life of her marriage.
She revealed, “Maybe kissing,” adding, “I don’t think it’s exclusive to entertaining couples. I wouldn’t even think of us as entertainment couples.”
