Biden will host a BBQ on July 4th on the South Lawn of the White Houseبيت

President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will welcome 1,000 essential staff and military family members to the White House on Sunday for a barbecue on the South Lawn to celebrate the Fourth of July.

The celebration is taking place despite the fact that Biden has failed to achieve his stated goal of vaccinating 70 percent of American adults by the holiday.

To attend the Independence Day event, the first major in-person gathering at the White House since Biden took office in January, invitees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

There will be no need for masks, according to the CDC’s guidelines for massing vaccinated individuals in large numbers.

After the event, where burgers will be served, there will be a 17-minute fireworks display that runs from either side of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Speaking to reporters Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the event will be a celebration of our “independence from the virus,” to serve as a sign of progress in the US response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the same day, the president made clear he was intent on having a positive weekend, as he blasted reporters during an event to celebrate the booming monthly jobs report released that morning.

“I want to talk about happy things, man. Look, it’s the Fourth of July.” “I’m worried you’re going to ask me questions that I’ll answer next week, but it’s the weekend. I’m going to celebrate it. Great things are happening.”

“The fourth of July this year is different from the fourth of July last year,” he added. “It will be better next year.”

President Joe Biden has failed to achieve his stated goal of having 70 percent of American adults by the Fourth of July holiday.

Aside from Biden, members of his administration are also starting to stop around the country to promote a new phase of the federal response to COVID, even though vaccination rates have slowed.

As a result of that slowdown, the White House said last month it would not reach President Biden’s goal of having 70 percent of American adults receive at least one shot of COVID-19 by the Fourth of July.

Jeff Zents, Biden’s COVID-19 response coordinator, blamed the failure on late vaccination rates among adults 18 to 26, saying the administration has “more work to do” with demographics.

“We think it will take a few more weeks to reach 70 percent of all adults with at least one injection considering people aged 18 to 26,” Zenz said at a press conference last month.

Currently, at least 70 percent of adults age 30 or older have received at least one shot of the vaccine, and the country is on track to meet the same target for those age 27 and older by July 4, he said at the time.
