Amanda Kloots honors her late husband Nick Cordero one year after his death.

The distinguished Broadway artist contracted the Corona virus and died on July 5, 2020, at the age of 41 after spending more than 90 days in the hospital after complications from the disease.

He suffered from several diseases after entering the hospital, including small strokes, amputation of one of his legs, lung infections, and more.

Last year may have passed for some, but for Kloots, who shares now two-year-old Elvis Eduardo with Cordero, the year has been anything but a smooth sailing.

“Today it hurts, there’s no other way to get around it,” Kloots, 39, began in a touching tribute video shared on Instagram. “One year ago you left us and became our angel in heaven. I was surrounded by so much love and played Led Zeppelin on Spotify – no doubt it was your doing, not mine. What happened was unimaginable, losing you was my biggest fear. I was telling you all along, “Don’t you dare go anywhere. If I lose you, I don’t know what I’ll do.”

Kloots and Cordero met while working together on the 2014 musical “Bullets Over Broadway,” and Cordero earned a Tony Award nomination for his performance.

Zach Braff recalls the last days of pal Nick Cordrow before his death:

The video Klotts shared in memory of her racy Cordero showed him making silly faces while bonding with their son, as well as the couple kissing in front of a Christmas tree. It also included a number of selfies of the couple during their “short time” together.

“There wasn’t a day this year that you didn’t miss, think about and talk about,” the “Talk” host continued. “Thank you for being our guardian angel, for sending me signals, for being my DJ in heaven. I know you’re only two inches away. We’ve only spent a few years together but it’s been filled with so much love and laughter, adventure and dreams and change and growth. It was the Nick era” And I will stay that way forever.”

Zach Braff also lamented the death of his friend shortly after Cordero’s death on an episode of his podcast “Fake Doctors, Fake Friends,” explaining that Cordero’s body simply did not recover after he stopped taking positive coronavirus tests.

‘The Talk’ co-host Amanda Kloots celebrates one year since she took her husband Nick Cordrow to the emergency room

“He deteriorated, deteriorated, deteriorated to the point where they put him on a ventilator and then he didn’t come back,” recalls the actor and director. “He kind of woke up a bit and there were some exciting moments where they were saying, ‘Nick if you could hear us looking up,’ he would, but he wouldn’t do it all the time. It was only occasionally.”

At the time, Braff also pledged to take care of Kloots and their baby Elvis going forward.
