2021 NBA Finals Game 1: Phoenix Suns vs Milwaukee Bucks | sport

Preamble

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics…not here, they were eliminated in the first round. So was the New York Knicks. . He did not survive the playoffs, almost literally. The Miami Heat had made it to the finals during bubble season (which seemed to be centuries ago) but couldn’t survive the first round, as the Milwaukee Bucks broke them up. The Portland Trail Blazers played by Damian Lillard were a victim in the first round as well. Philadelphia 76ers reached the second round and nothing more. The Phoenix Suns made their way with the Los Angeles Clippers, who were the last team to represent one of those few cities designated as “major markets.”

Now, Bucks vs.Uss may not have been the outcome TV advertisers were hoping for. Well, who cares about them? Ad prices are sad, basketball fans will battle the two best teams in the league especially if Giannis Antetokounmpo can still play despite his overextended knee.

There are a lot of stories going on here. The Bucks haven’t won the title since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar helped them beat the Washington Bullets in the 1971 Finals. (Yes, the Wizards were the lead back then, and the Washington teams have a thing where they have to keep changing their names.)

Meanwhile, the Suns somehow haven’t won a championship, even though they have their moments in, well, the Sun. Charles Barkley was the player who first caught national attention during his ’90s career, but it ended up being remembered as one of the greatest players to never win an episode before he became the most glamorous studio analyst in the NBA. Then head coach Mike D’Antoni and two-time NBA player of the year Steve Nash revolutionized basketball with Seven Seconds or Less Suns…but they still couldn’t shake off their playoff issues. If they do finally win the championship, it will be a payback for both the franchise and Point Good Chris Paul, an NBA Hall of Fame player who hasn’t made it to the finals yet.

Or perhaps money can overcome the annoyance. Even without Giannis, the Bucks were able to banish the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 in a rather decisive way. They would be a worthy opponent, so Phoenix shouldn’t consider every possibility that shows they are the candidates here.

So we’ll probably have some good basketball here, no matter who plays for these fairly deep teams, so hopefully you’ll follow along with us. As always, if you’d like to contribute to the live blog today, simply email us ([email protected]) or tweet us (to HunterFelt) and we’ll include your comment as we move forward. It’s the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Phoenix Suns game at Phoenix Suns Arena. The event isn’t supposed to start until 9:00 PM EST, but we’ll be back before that time. Stay tuned!
