On Wednesday, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley criticized the critical race theory as harmful to young people and a general obstacle to the country’s unification.
“Critical race theory will hold back generations of young people,” Hailey wrote on Twitter.
Hailey, who was born in South Carolina, said her parents, who immigrated to the United States from India, taught her to “focus on what unites us, not what sets us apart.”
“America should be united around shared values, not divided by different shades of color,” Hailey said.

Critical Race Theory, or CRT, is a school of thought that generally focuses on how power structures and institutions affect racial minorities.
CRT proponents see the world in general in terms of power relations and social structures rather than individuals. But opponents say the CRT only deepens the racial divide, exposing the collective guilt of dominant groups and stifling seemingly harmless concepts.
