Eight lives left!

A cat living on the ninth floor of a collapsed Florida apartment has been miraculously found — and returned to her family — two weeks after the building collapsed, according to reports on Friday.

The skinny black cat, Binx, was seen wandering near the ruins of Champlain Towers South in Surfside Thursday night and was taken to the Kitty Campus rescue group, according to the local WSVN outlet.

“Pets are family, and this is a miracle,” Maria Gaspari, a friend of the cat family, told the station, adding that she was overjoyed.

“I’m shaking now,” she said. “Amidst this grief, we were hoping for good news either for any survivor or any pet.”

The Miami Herald reports that Binx belongs to the Gonzalez family, formerly of Unit 904, who has since been reunited with the cat.

Angela Gonzalez and her daughter Devin were among the first to be pulled out of the rubble and taken to hospital. The newspaper reported that Devin’s older sister, Tyler Gonzalez, was not home during the meltdown and Edgar Gonzalez’s father is still missing.

Binx was spotted wandering near the ruins of the Champlain South Towers in Surfside Thursday night, and Facebook Binx was returned to his family after he was miraculously found alive.

Gaspari said it wasn’t clear how the cat managed to evade the astrological cat phenomenon — but his resilience may give the family a glimmer of hope.

“This is actually Devin’s cat, so I’m sure she would be over the moon knowing they found her cat. I can’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it when we received the confirmation. This is a miracle for the entire Surfside community.”

Their attorney said last week that pet owners who failed to recover their animals from the collapsed tower before it was demolished were experiencing unimaginable grief.

Gina Nicole Vlasik, co-founder of Kitty Campus, said in a Facebook post that the tearful reunion may give other building residents a short respite from stress and grief.

Vlasik wrote: “All we needed was a glimmer of hope in this tragedy … Today was one of the most wonderful days.” “A survivor came to see the cat and to determine if it was her family’s cat or not!”
