A new report on Monday said Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organization’s longtime chief financial officer, has been removed from an official position at several subsidiaries of that company owned by former President Donald Trump following criminal tax charges against Weisselberg and the company.
The Wall Street Journal reports that an affiliate, Trump Payroll Corp., listed Weisselberg as holding several officer positions before he and Trump Payroll were indicted with the Trump Organization earlier this month by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office .
Citing business records at the Florida State Department, the newspaper said Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, has taken over officer positions previously held by Weisselberg at Trump Payroll, which handles payroll jobs for the Trump Organization.
The report indicated that Weisselberg was removed from the position of director of the Trump International Golf Club Scotland Limited.
Despite being removed from those positions, the 73-year-old CFO is expected to remain at the Trump Organization, according to the newspaper.
A spokeswoman for the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNBC.
Weisselberg, the Trump Organization and Trump Payroll were indicted July 1 in a 15-count indictment accusing them of a scheme that since 2005 has helped Weisselberg and other corporate executives avoid taxes on their compensation.
Trump himself is not charged in the case.
Lawyers for the Trump Organization have denied any wrongdoing, and together with Weisselberg, have pleaded not guilty.

The indictment said Weiselberg and the company devised a scheme to compensate him and other executives in an “unrecorded” manner, allowing them to receive “significant portions of their income through indirect and disguised means.”
The indictment states that Weisselberg paid rent, utilities and garage expenses for his apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan by the Trump Organization without informing the tax authorities of this compensation and without paying related taxes.
