Timothée Chalamet returns to the red carpet in a silver Tom Ford suit and heels at the Cannes Film Festival

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Timothée Chalamet appear on the red carpet. Thankfully, the hiatus is officially over, thanks to the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.

At the premiere of his new film “The French Dispatch” directed by Wes Anderson at Cannes, Chalamet wowed the red carpet with one of his signature streamlined ensembles. For the occasion, he wore a silver jacquard tuxedo by Tom Ford. The skinny suit featured sharp lapels and pleated pants, which Chalamet paired with a white collar shirt. On the front of the accessories, he put on several silver rings and bracelets – including one of Cartier’s Juste un Clou cuffs – and debuted two new cartilage piercings with thin black hoop earrings. A pair of elegant black Celine acetate sunglasses complete the look. Chalamet shades are currently sold for $430 on Celine.com.

On the footwear front, Chalamet wore a stylish pair of cream Chelsea boots, also from Ford. The pair features a brown sole and a wide heel, with smooth leather accents. A beveled toe complemented the sharp boot that complemented his white shirt and the lighter tones of the suit.

Chalamet is a fashion chameleon, often sporting a look that features streamlined shades and a monochromatic design with bursts of prints, colors, and textures. Plus, who can forget whimsical and modern cut-off additions like a shimmering belt, ornate Swarovski hood, or Eiffel Tower keychain? The “Call Me By Your Name” representative offers bold-looking phrases from major brands like Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Prada and Haider Ackermann—to name a few—as well as favorites like Sterling Ruby. Chalamet’s bold style has made him a fixture in the fashion world. Fans are already speculating about what he’ll wear as co-chair of the 2021 Met Gala later this fall.

As far as shoes go, rocking a sleek shoe on the red carpet is one of Chalamet’s signature design moves. Chelsea leather in glossy black leather and zippered pairs with sharp fingers are the things he uses most often, although he’s also known for wearing a chunky combat style or lace-up more often. These products come from high-end brands similar to his wardrobe, such as Berluti, Saint Laurent, Celine, and Ackermann. When you’re off-duty (and off-duty, as many photos of events and the red carpet prove), Chalamet regularly slips into versatile white and gray sneakers. New Balance is one of the star’s favorites—he even wore a limited edition modeled on the brand’s collaboration with Staud and Jaden Smith. Outside of those, he’s also been spotted in pairs by Louis Vuitton, Vans, and Off-White — as well as affordable Tretorn kicks that retail for less than $40.
