Seismologists say two small earthquakes struck between White Center and Tokwila early Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, the first two earthquakes of magnitude 2.2 were measured in the Highline/Boulevard Park area shortly before noon. The second was at Tukwila about an hour later, measuring 2.6 degrees and a depth of 21 miles.
A range of small earthquakes with magnitudes between 1.0 and 2.0 on the Richter scale have also been tracked over the past four days, as well as in the Highline region.
In general, incidents such as these that are more profound tend to be less severe than shallower earthquakes.
