Hint: Only one of the many inlets along the North Carolina coast was made by the Army Corps of Engineers. Charleston, South Carolina, was hit by a major earthquake over a hundred years ago. The North Carolina coast is not prone to earthquakes, especially large earthquakes. So, what do you think about creating an Oregon entrance?

Trivia answer about weather from Phillip on July 14 (WITN)

Oregon, a ship, rode a hurricane in the sound of a pamlico. When the storm ended, they saw the new entrance that currently separates Pea Island from Bodhi Island. When they started telling the story of the new entrance, people started calling it the Oregon Inlet. This was in 1846. – Philip Williams
