Richard Sherman released without bail

A judge has ordered Richard Sherman to be released without bail after a hearing related to the domestic violence burglary charges against him.

The judge noted that Sherman had never been in trouble with the law and had a long record of working in his community.

“I see Mr. Sherman as a pillar of this community, he’s a business, he’s a husband, he’s a father,” Judge said via Amy Dash. “I will release Mr. Sherman.”

Sherman was ordered to distance himself from a member of his wife’s family with whom he was at odds, but his wife did not seek a protection order for herself. Sherman will have to appear in court again tomorrow morning.

Police arrested Sherman outside his wife’s parents’ home in the early hours of Wednesday morning after his wife called 911 saying he was drunk, a fighter and threatening to commit suicide. Sherman is arrested separately for collisions with running and driving while under the influence.
