The full statement released Wednesday from the Nevada Hospital Association:

“The general public appears insensitive to the threat, and individuals are not following CDC guidelines for wearing masks for unvaccinated people or maintaining social distancing in crowded enclosed spaces. Vaccinations have stopped, and while most patients have not been vaccinated, hospitals are seeing some breakouts that require Advanced medical treatments.

COVID-19 patients represent approximately 14% of the relative demand for hospitals statewide and 16% of the relative demand in the Southern region (confirmed and suspected/total counts). Some facilities have reported increased occupancy rates for hospitals and intensive care units (by 90% or more); However, most of these patients are the reason for their hospitalization. Hospitals are not reporting shortages of ventilators, supplies, vaccines or other treatments, despite the increasing use of the intensive care unit and ventilators. “
