Britney Spears Calling Those Who Didn’t Hand When She Was “Drowning”

In an Instagram post Friday night, the singer, who scored a legal victory earlier this week by securing her choice of attorney in her battle for conservatism, criticized those who spoke out to support her victory in court but failed to help her earlier.

“There is nothing worse than people close to you who have never appeared to you posting things about your situation no matter what and speaking up honestly for support…there is nothing worse than that!!!! I love who says anything at all… Did they even extend your hand to lift me then!!!??? How dare you announce that you care now… Did you raise your hand when I was drowning??? Again… No, Spears wrote.” If I You read this and know who you are… and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face in public!!! If you’re going to post something…. please stop the righteous approach when you are far from the righteous, it’s not funny….”

Spears did not specifically mention anyone by name in her post.

At Wednesday’s hearing, Spears called the guardianship she’s lived under for nearly 13 years “the cruelty of a king,” describing the severe limitations she lives under, such as her inability to have a cup of coffee.

“If that’s not abuse, I don’t know what is,” the singer said.

Spears said she wanted her father, Jamie Spears, to step out of the assistant position to protect her estimated $60 million property and accuse her of abuse.

“I want to press charges against my father today,” Britney Spears told the court by phone at the hearing, crying at times. “I want to conduct an investigation with my father.”

Matthew Rosengart, the singer’s new attorney, urged Jamie Spears on Wednesday to voluntarily step down as governor.

“It’s in the governor’s interest,” Rosengart, the former federal prosecutor, said out of court. “We will move quickly and aggressively to have him removed. The question remains, why is he involved? He should step down voluntarily because this is in the interest of the governor.”

Vivian Touraine, Jimmy Spears’ attorney, said in court that he would not resign.

Another guardianship hearing is scheduled for September 29.

Spears concluded her post on Friday with a message of support for others.
