Woodstock Township, Michigan – Representatives are investigating what happened at the Faster Horses Festival after three men died inside the camp on Saturday.

Original story: Lenawee County Sheriff: 3 dead at Faster Horses due to possible exposure to carbon monoxide

“Three poor guys had carbon monoxide inside their camping trailer,” said Connie McTaggart.

McTaggart said news about what happened at the Faster Horses Festival in Woodstock quickly spread across the city.

“It’s really sad, you know, that these were somebody’s kids,” McTaggart said.

Lenawe County Sheriff’s Deputies told Local 4 that when they got the call at about 1:27 p.m. Saturday, they found about five unresponsive people at the camp, located near the corner of US-12 and the Brooklyn Freeway. When they arrived, they found five men inside the travel trailer. They started CPR treatment, but three of them died at the scene.

“It was amazing because again, I’m 22. It looks like that’s how old these kids are,” MacTaggart said. “It’s just so devastating. I feel sad for the parents.”

Representatives said a friend called 911 after not hearing from the five.

Representatives said the accident was being investigated on suspicion of exposure to carbon monoxide from a generator. The other two victims are in critical condition.

The incident had nothing to do with the death of a woman at the festival on Saturday morning.

Authorities are urging residents to remember to prevent generators and exhaust fumes from operating vehicles away from camping areas, tents and travel trailers.
