This Kooks clown car crashes into the Pelosi commission on January 6

Trump failed Kevin McCarthy, who is rarely known for his effective leadership, is doing everything he can to undermine House Speaker Nancy Pelosi even before the opening hammer falls on Tuesday at the condolence hearings investigating Jan. 6 — a replacement for the Independent Committee Sort of September 11th. The attack was justified but the Republicans were killed even before he was born.

The House Minority “Leader” designated a clown car for representatives of little achievement, questionable personality, and penchant for cheap theatre. None of them voted for the committee they are joining. Three of the five voted to annul Joe Biden’s election after a mob stormed the Capitol to try to kill Pelosi or Mike Pence and annulled the election. They were all selected after McCarthy met Donald Trump at his Bedminsters Club.

McCarthy’s position shifts from the right — Jim Banks is chair of the conservative Republican Study Committee — to the far right in Ohio’s Jim Jordan, founder of the Freedom Caucus and Trump’s staunch defender of T-shirt legislation. Liz Cheney, demoted from 3rd in the Republican caucus for describing Trump’s Big Lie before and after January 6, whom Pelosi had already appointed to the committee was with “that damn guy, Jim Jordan. Son of a bitch” when the mob invaded on the 6 January.

I remembered, according to one of the many new books about Trump’s disastrous final year, that “as these lunatics pass by, I’m standing in the aisle and saying ‘We need to get the ladies out of the aisle. let me help you.’ I shocked his hand and said to him: Get away from me. I did this silly. “

Now, the two would be on the same committee to examine what F’ing had done. Other Republicans who joined the Jordan Club are, as they are known, unknown. The only person with a criminal record – at least that we know of – is Representative Troy Niles. He destroyed evidence on his first police job in Richmond, Texas, then lied about it after getting fired to get his next police job. He has also been officially cited for drinking, getting a side job, chronically failing to follow orders, going to stores and restaurants while at work, giving civilians rides on his cruiser, taking a picture of an anti-Trump poster in hopes of getting the country’s attorney general to press charges, and so on.

Nils, a member of the Army Reserve who served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, said in the midst of the Capitol invasion that he was “proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Capitol Police,” and that “violence is never the answer.” An iconic image of him standing next to two officers armed with their rifles inside a room of the house while talking to the invaders through broken panes of glass.

But, like McCarthy, he quickly overcame his initial shock and returned to a kneeling position at Trump’s altar. After declaring that “what I witness is a disgrace” amid the attack, he immediately voted to challenge the election results in Arizona and Pennsylvania.

The Republicans now tasked with investigating what happened during that invasion are united in calling on us all to come together and move forward. Nothing you see here. On his selection, senior member Banks said, “Make no mistake, Nancy Pelosi created this committee solely to hurt conservatives and justify the left’s authoritarian agenda.”

By accusing the left of being authoritarian, Banks displays his party’s support for a primitive fascist attempt to turn the election on his enemies. And just because McCarthy sends out a few clowns to make the point that there’s nothing to investigate here doesn’t mean Democrats won’t have their hands full. Like the AOC, which didn’t want to degrade itself by debating Marjorie Taylor Green, Democrats are stuck between trying not to reduce themselves to constant squabbling with Republicans, but not wanting to leave their lies on the books uncorrected.

They have to shout their ideas and then quickly get back to work of getting to what the Republican Party is trying to hide: What and when did they know about the mob’s “spontaneous” plans to invade when the attackers with guns and pre-printed T-shirts were in town? Who brought them in for reconnaissance before the attack? Who gave up the subway maps and the way to the speaker’s office? Where are visitor records and emails? Who could have asked for reinforcements but chose not to?

We know Trump, who never registered with Pence as the mob was looking for, called McCarthy amid the bloody attack. Did the “commander” who wears the groom, even asked the president to cancel his supporters? We don’t know the answer to that, but the committee has to find out. What we do know is that Trump did not cancel it.

All the while, Democrats have to be conscious because the clock is not ticking in a chess game but in a raucous game of hockey. It won’t take long for Republicans to declare sessions boring.

There are probably two moderates tokens among the McCarthy Five, depending on your definition of the word moderate. Since nothing would be heard of him if his more flexible colleagues had more to say about him, meet Rep. Rodney Davis, of the House Management Committee, whose portfolio includes underground parking. There’s also First Representative Kelly Armstrong, whose position in a letter signed by seven of his colleagues is to agree with Trump’s big lie but argues that Congress cannot stop the theft because it lacks power.

If Pelosi does not reject any of McCarthy’s options, they will join her appointments – seven Democrats plus Cheney – as early witnesses testify. They’ll be cops on duty that day – supporting men and women in Republican blue when they turn traffic stops into a justifiable murder but not when they’re lying in blood and beaten up by Trump supporters. The first among them will be Metropolitan Police officers Michael Fanon, who pleaded for his life in fear of him that day.

McCarthy, who said Jan. 6 that Trump bears some responsibility for what happened, is now determined to prevent Trump from taking responsibility and hiding the historical record. He takes these congressional efforts seriously only insofar as he actively aims to derail them by nominating a crew whose members they are not familiar with, deal with, or hope that those who do not examine history are doomed to repeat it.
