The US Olympic and Paralympic Committee described the US women’s water polo team as “the most offensive attack in Olympic history”.

And it wasn’t just propaganda.

The Americans defeated Japan 25-4 in their opening match at the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday to nullify the Olympics record. Briefly.

Hours later, Spain scored a 29-4 win over South Africa for possessing the record for the most goals in a match and the largest winning difference in women’s water polo at the Olympics.

He was nice while he continued for Team USA. According to ESPN, the team beat the previous Olympic record for goals in a game by 8 (set at the 2012 London Olympics) and scored the most goals in the 14th inning, and the margin of victory with 21 goals was the largest ever at that point, breaking the 13 goals difference in Australia’s 16-3 victory over Great Britain in 2012.

“These women are as badass as they get,” trainer Adam Krikorian told USA Today earlier.

Maggie Stevens and Stephanie Harlapids led the American team with five goals each, and Ashley Johnson blocked 15 of 19 shots.

What a way the two-time Olympic champions can start competing.
