A Turkish man allegedly working for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency explained how he was persistently taken to Switzerland, where Israeli spies taught him how to encrypt and transfer documents.
Of Turkey Daily Tomorrow On Thursday, authorities said they had arrested 15 men allegedly spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency earlier this month.
Sabah, who is close to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, interviewed one of the prisoners he knew only by the letters MAS on Friday.
There is no official confirmation from Turkey about the arrests, and it is not known how the newspaper interviewed the man if he was arrested.
“I met with the Mossad official face to face. He taught me to encrypt files on a laptop, “MAS told Sabah.
The man, who owns a company that provides consulting services to students coming to Istanbul from abroad, told the newspaper that he had instructed them to follow the Palestinians in Turkey. Hundreds of euros were first sent to Adam to inform him about how Palestinian students entered Turkish universities and how they received support from Turkish authorities.
He then claimed to have provided the client with details about a Palestinian non-governmental organization operating in Turkey.
He said he received about $ 10,000 in exchange for three years of information; Part of the money was sent through Western Union, and part was given in the Istanbul market, showing the ID card and receipt.
During this time, he was brought to Switzerland to meet with employees who allegedly received a visa sponsored by an organization called the European Student Leadership Center.
During the visit, which paid for itself, he met two different people, including someone who taught him how to encrypt Word files in Protonmail, which has high-speed encryption. The newspaper writes that most of the contacts between the two were made through Protonmail.
MAS said he met two people again on his second trip to Zurich and met another man named “John”. After being questioned and asked if he was an intelligence agent, they said they worked for an “intelligence-like organization tasked with conducting investigations for EU institutions.”
It was not clear when he was hired by the Mossad.
According to a report on Thursday, the arrests were made on October 7 after a year-long operation by the National Intelligence Organization (NIS) involving about 200 Turkish intelligence officials allegedly spies.
According to the report, the suspects, who are of Arab origin, operated in groups of three. Some met with Mossad agents in Croatia and Switzerland, where information was exchanged.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan shook hands with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh before meeting in Istanbul on February 1, 2020.
A report last year claimed that the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas was secretly conducting cyber-attacks and counter-intelligence operations against Israel in Turkey.
According to the report, the headquarters, which is separate from Hamas’s official offices in the city, was set up without the knowledge of Turkish authorities.
The British newspaper The Telegraph wrote that in 2020, Turkey will grant citizenship to many high-ranking Hamas members involved in the coordination of terrorist attacks. This information was later confirmed by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Israeli Embassy in Ankara.
Turkey sees Hamas as a legitimate political movement. The country has maintained warm relations with Hamas, which has grown over the past decade as relations with Israel have cooled. According to the report, Israel complained to Ankara about its relations with Hamas, but to no avail.
In August 2020, Erdogan met with Hamas delegation No. 2, which included the head of the political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and the top military commander, Saleh al-Arouri, with a $ 5 million US award.
The meeting was strongly condemned by the US State Department at the time, but the Turkish Foreign Ministry rejected criticism, accusing Washington of “serving Israel’s interests.”
Hamas and Erdogan’s AKP party are politically connected. Both have close ideological ties to the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.
