Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s security and foreign policy adviser Mesut Hakki Cash said that the balance of power in the Aegean Sea has changed in favor of Greece after receiving military assistance from the West.
Caşın, who personally threatened to shoot Greek soldiers and blamed Greece for last year’s devastating forest fires in Turkey, also contradicts Turkey’s long-standing claim that the Turkish army is far superior to its neighbor.

In December, Chash attended the annual Congress of the Islamic Union, organized by the Center for Strategic Studies of Defenders of Justice (ASSAM), a front-line organization. Nordic Monitoris managed by private Turkish military contractor SADAT.
He began his online presentation by saying, “May God not separate us from righteousness.” Erdogan’s adviser said that “arms aid to Greece” scared him the most.
“Look, in addition to the fighters, Greece was given four modern American frigates,” Chashin told the audience.
“France also provided four. Four MEKO [German-made frigates] inventory is modernized.
“American-Greek cooperation with these 12 warships is challenging us in the Aegean and the eastern Mediterranean.
“There are 20 US military bases in Greece. We see that Turkey has difficulties in Alexandroupoli and Crete. “

Caşın said that with the help of the new French-made Rafale fighter jets, the air advantage has changed towards Greece.
In January 2021, Greece purchased 18 Rafale aircraft for 2.5 billion euros. By the end of the year, Greece had added six more Rafale fighter jets to its order, bringing the total to 24.
Turkey is particularly concerned that it may be on the verge of losing its air defenses against Greece after being expelled from the F-35 Joint Fighter Fighter program for acquiring a Russian-made S-400 long-range missile defense system.
“It is not yet clear what Turkey can do against the attack of the Greek army, which is ready to intervene in Thrace and the Aegean Sea,” he said.
Criticizing the latest joint military exercises in the Aegean Sea between Greece and the United States last November, Caşın said that this was done with more personnel and ships than necessary and that this was not a good sign for Turkey.
He also claimed that Greece had become an American garrison.
