Turkish Erdogan is expected to visit Pakistan next month

ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to visit Pakistan next month, ARY News reported on Tuesday citing diplomatic sources.

Sources familiar with the incident told ARY News that the Turkish president will pay an official visit to Pakistan in the first week of August. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

During his visit to Pakistan, Erdogan will meet with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discuss issues of mutual interest.

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will meet his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Both sides will sign a series of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand economic and trade cooperation in various sectors.

It should be noted here that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Turkey with world leaders during the swearing-in ceremony of President Erdogan last month.

While in Ankara, the Prime Minister met with a number of world leaders and discussed opportunities for cooperation in various fields.

On May 28, the Prime Minister congratulated President Erdogan on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan on his re-election.
