Turkey will soon eliminate the COVID-19 pandemic with a mass vaccination campaign. Anadolu Agency.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended an online event on the occasion of Father’s Day and answered questions from young people across Turkey.

Answering a question about the pandemic and when it will end, Erdogan said that since the beginning of the disease, Turkey has been ahead of other countries in everything from health services to public safety.

“At a time when the supply of vaccines is very difficult, we are preparing a fast vaccination schedule thanks to the timely contacts. We have some delays, but we have overcome these delays. We are now in good condition. Hopefully we will overcome this disaster soon,” he said.

Erdogan said that local vaccination work continues and the goal is to start production by September-October.

“Currently, the infection rate has dropped significantly. But we need to reduce this rate even more. The number of cases is around 5,000 a day. We think it’s a lot. The number of deaths per day is around 50. Ask for that,” Erdogan said.

“We hope to reduce the number of cases to two and the number of deaths to one,” he said. It is the greatest tool for vaccination.

“We are also good at importing vaccines and will continue to do so quickly,” he said.

Answering a question about anti-vahchers, Erdogan called for respect for science: “It is impossible to deny science.”

“Every individual in our nation should know that billions of people around the world have access to vaccines that are out of reach,” he said.

“It is the duty of scientists to develop and apply the vaccine to people. Our task is to use the vaccine prepared by the best specialists in their fields with respect to science. We cannot exclude ourselves from a process that involves the entire population. The world,” he said.

Turkey lowered the COVID-19 vaccination age to 30 on Saturday.

More than 41.34 million doses of coronavirus have been administered in the country since the mass vaccination campaign began in mid-January. According to the Ministry of Health, more than 26.96 million people received their first doses, and more than 14.38 million were vaccinated as of Sunday.
