Josh McCauley nominated for the Rimington Awards Watch List

We’ve spent 41 days at the Arizona Football and Wildcat Center in early 2021. Josh McCauley has been shortlisted for the Rimington Awards.

It’s getting closer and closer to the Arizona football season, which means more checklists for the pre-season awards are coming. For the Wildcats, redshirt senior Josh McCauley has recently been named to the pre-season watch list.

Just a few days ago, we learned that Arizona runner Michael Wiley was nominated for the pre-season Doak Walker Award watch list, which recognizes the best running player in college football each year.

Well, thankfully for us Arizona football fans, the Wildcats have another player this year who is expected to do great things, like a few days ago McCauley was named to the Rimington Award watch list.

News announcement via social media on Friday, Josh is a former referee from Red Mountain High School in Mesa, AZ, who still walked with the Wildcats and has quickly become one of the better centers for college football.

Coming in 2021, Josh McCauley will be the leader on the Arizona Football offensive line, which is why he is being considered for the Rimington Award.

Awarded annually to the best center in college football, McCauley has been one of the places brought by the offensive line in recent years, and once again he is helping to bring stability to the Wildcats offensive line.

For me, the success of a crime in 2021 depends on the performance of the line of attack, and the Wildcats will go as far as this group will bring them.

Last year was a train accident on many levels, and part of it was due to injury and depth problems on the offensive line. We hope that by 2021, wild cats will be an improved group and that some of these things will be fixed. So far, things are sure to look positive (look no further than McCauley will be considered for the Rimington Prize).

Either way, we’re excited about what’s going to happen in 2021, and we’re happy with Josh!
