Marc-Andre Fleury ‘seriously’ evaluates future of hockey after aftermarket for Chicago Blackhawks

Reigning Vezina Trophy award-winning goalkeeper Marc-Andre Fleury is “seriously” evaluating his future in hockey after being switched to the Chicago Blackhawks from Vegas by his agent.

Fluery agent Allan Walsh said in a post on Twitter that the goalkeeper was expecting to hear the golden knight.

“Although Marc-Andre Fleury has still not heard from anyone about the Vegas Golden Knights, he has apparently been moved to Chicago. Marc-Andre is taking the time to discuss his situation with his family and seriously assess his future in hockey at the moment,” Walsh wrote.

Although Fleury did not have Chicago on his 10-team non-commercial list, he has stated that he does not want to play for anyone other than Vegas.

It’s the first time in 20 years with a reigning Vezina winner before the next season. Buffalo was the first to replace Dominik Hasek in Detroit in 2001.

Fleury went 26-10-0 against 1.98 goals to an average and .928 savings percentage last season. He started 16 Golden Knights in 19 playoffs over Robin Lehner, signed for another four years.

Lehner finished early in the season after Fleury’s twilight in the third quarter of the semi-final, which changed the series against Montreal and led coach Peter DeBoer to switch between the two goalkeepers.

Three-time Stanley Cup winner Fleury will drop $ 7 million into the salary cap next season and owe $ 6 million in real money. The reported return of a minor employee indicates that the change was a Vegas payroll.

Vancouver’s Braden Holtby and San Jose’s Martin Jones will become free agents among other agents after the purchase is abandoned.

Holtby struggled with the Canucks last season, but is only three years away from winning the Cup with Washington.

A person with immediate knowledge of the talks between Buffalo Sabers and goalkeeper Linus Ullmark said the talks will continue with the hope of reaching an agreement by Wednesday. The person spoke to the Associated Press anonymously because the discussions are private.

The free office opens at noon EDT on Wednesday.
