Purdue Football: Mark Hagen’s Hire – It Works

[ad_1]

Coach Mark Hagen was hired outside the early season.

As soon as the assistant coach was released from Texas, former Purdue defensive players were active on Twitter to get the coach back to West Lafayette.

Coach Hagen, who once coached under Joe Tiller but has stopped everywhere and wherever he has gone, has left his footprint.

Early in the Purdue series, I think it’s safe to say he’s had the best salary out of season.

Not only is he a great defensive line coach, but he gets the men ready on Saturdays and takes them to the NFL (he’s done this wherever he’s been), he has a huge impact on recruitment.

The last defensive staff barely recruited Joe Strickland, when coach Hagen was hired, he moved immediately. The river became the # 1 priority for new defense personnel, and his ties to Purdues and familiarity with coach Hagen, a committed four-star defensive head.

However, it wasn’t just done with coach Mark Hagen, but coach Hagen hosted George Karlaftis to host Joes ’recruitment visit – George stressed the staff’s ability to prepare him for the NFL and talked about how awesome coach Hagen has been since his arrival.

Needless to list everyone that Coach Hagen has helped get into the NFL, but I think we all know he maximizes Georges ’potential to be an early choice in the NFL draft and does the same time as Joe Strickland, who will be three years one, as he only gets with George.

Sometimes things were just going to happen, Texas was supposed to happen by firing its staff and leading Coach Hagen back to West Lafayette. Now he has maximized his second stake in Purdue.
