The Tribune, now published in Chandigarh, began to be published on February 2, 1881 in Lahore (now Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public philanthropist, and is led by a trust that includes four prominent individuals as trustees.
The Tribune, the best-selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice. The hallmarks of the magazine are restraint and moderation instead of arousing language and bias. It is an independent newspaper in the true sense of the word.
Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (Hindi).
