Cal will open the fall 2021 season on August 27th
The Bears hosted five matches in Berkeley
BERKELEY It’s a quick turnaround for the California field hockey program this summer. After competing in the regular season in the spring of 2021, the Gold Bears will return to the field for their fall 2021 campaign this month.
The Bears will start the season at Stanford on Friday, Aug. 27, before hosting five home games at Underhill Field, which will begin with a home game on Sunday, Aug. 29 against Liberty.
The other four home matches are visits from Dartmouth (September 5), Brown (September 17), Northwestern (September 19) and Senior Evening. On Friday, October 22, against Cardinal. The match will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 network.
Cal ended last spring with a total score of 5-6. Kiki de Bruine he was elected AE Newcomer of the Year, and he and Brynn Zorilla made the first team of the entire conference. That marked Zorilla’s appointment to the team for the third time.
Zorilla and Maddie Cleat draw the team to the lead with points in the spring, each with a total of 10 points with four goals and two assists.
Cato Cut returns to the cage after playing every minute on goal last season. He earned the AE Defensive Player of the Week award in the final week of the season last spring when he directed Bears to a three-match winning streak to close the campaign.
