The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) continues to be a pioneer when it comes to using the Kookaburra Smart Ball used by Sportcor in the 2021 race.
This ball will be used in the professional league for the first time when the CPL kicks off in St. Kitts and Nevis on August 28th.
The Kookaburra Smart Ball looks, feels and plays exactly like a regular ball.
The ball sends back important information about each delivery, including the speed and rotation of the ball when released as it bounces and reaches the batsman.
The information is then provided to commenters in real time. This is displayed graphically so that fans can enjoy the live TV broadcast.
CPL CEO Pete Russell said the organizers were excited to use the new technology in the competition.
