A spiritual Indian women’s hockey team failed to prune the Olympic bronze on Friday after losing 3-4 to Britain in a fierce battle, but the girls have won a million hearts and respect with their commendable performance.
The families of skipper Rani Rampal, striker Navneet and Shahabad midfielder Navjot said the girls did their best and their performance inspired budding players. They said, “For us, they are winners.”
