Nathan Ellis doesn’t have to be the first male cricketer to take the hat trick during his T20 International debut.

Ellis ’victory in Dhaka on Friday night has become a brilliant light for Australia’s otherwise corrupt Bangladesh tour, which drops 3-2 in five match series.

It was hardly a random start, and he admitted for the first time.

When Australian captain Matthew Wade brought him back, there was more massacre, and Bangladeshi striker Atif Hossain did most of the damage as Ellis left in eleven runs in the second set.

In the third final of the Bangladeshi innings with Captain Mohammad Mahmudullah at the age of 52, Ellisfired delivered a full delivery that went past the racket and pushed the stump back.

In the next delivery, Ellis was caught by the left-handed Mustifizur on the field after a big swing.

On the last ball of the innings, 8 and 127 in Bangladesh, Ellis bowed to Shoriful, who pulled the catch to the fieldman near the border.

With 3 of 34, Ellis was the first to score three goals in consecutive deliveries in the history of the T20 International competition.

Damien Fleming is the only Australian to have made his hat trickon debut in a test match against Pakistan in 1994.

Speaking after the Cricket Australia match, Ellis described his joy of achievement.

Adversity is a disguised blessing

Less than four months ago, Ellis participated in the local Lindisfarne Tasmanian Club cricket competition.

Originally from New South Wales, Ellis has joked that “I want to say I’m 6-fetettall, but I think I’m 5’11” after being told several times throughout his younger career that his height was an obstacle.

The fast bowler missed a choice on every minor side of New South Wales he tried.

In 2017, Ellis took a step and moved to Tasmania without a guarantee of a contract or even a job.

“The first two years were pretty hard to get enough money to pay the rent and put the fuel tank in the car,” he told Cricket Australia in 2019.

“It helped me grow really fast, it’s been kind of a disguised blessing that has helped me mature and grow.”

Since then, Ellis has cut his way to the starting side of both Tasmania and Hobart Hurricanes and has performed 50 times in professional matches.
