Cricket: Shakib stars Bangladesh competing from Australia for 62 in T20 Series victory, Sports News

Shakib Al Hasan took four throws as Bangladesh threw Australia out of an all-time low of Twenty20 out of a total of 62 to close the series on Monday.

Chasing a win of 123, the guests crashed in 13.4 overs and Shakib returned the numbers 4-9 with a left hand spin on Dhaka’s 60-run run.

Australia’s previous lowest was 79 against England in 2005.

Bangladesh, which had secured a first-series win over Australia after winning three opening matches, jumped back from their previous defeat to even out the opponent’s battle.

“The boys showed a lot of character and hunger to win the series against a team like Australia,” home striker Mahmudullah Riyad said after the win.

“We carried out our plan really well. Apparently it was hard for the batsmen, but we managed to get 120-130. All the bowlers worked really well together.”

He said: “We always felt like we were a very good team in our backyard. We can’t let anything go by.

“Even if the ranking doesn’t show it, I’ve always felt we have a very good chance of being a very good team in T20 international competitions.”

Flying bowler Mohammad Saifuddin combined with Shakib rumbles in Australian double strikes together and sends back Alex Carey and Moises Henriques, three.

Shakib, who got Ashton Turner out of his 100th T20 scalp, wiped his tail off in the colors of Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa as Bangladesh celebrated.

The 34-year-old Shakib, a veteran of 58 tests, 258 one-day matches and 84 T20 series, said he still enjoys the game.

Cyclist Nasum Ahmed had done an early injury when he bowed to Dan Christian at three and then injured Mitchell Marsh for four in a row.

Skipper Matthew Wade (22) and Ben McDermott fought in a 21-run leg from third country, but Mahmudullah broke the partnership. He caught McDermott and bowled 17th.

“I’ve been playing for a few years, definitely the most difficult conditions to play T20 cricket,” said disappointed Wade. “Awesome learning for young people.”

Earlier, Mohammad Naim made 23 in 122 in Bangladesh to eight after choosing a bat.
