The man was charged with deaths, including the son of a hockey coach

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) A Minnesota man was charged on Monday with four crimes of vehicle murder for overturning his car while driving drunk, resulting in the death of two passengers, one of whom was the son of a University of Minnesota men’s hockey coach.

The Hennepin County Law Firm said James Blue, 51, of Orono, was intoxicated when he crashed his 2017 Bentley Flying Spur in a wooded area near Lake Minnetonka on July 24th. The accident killed 20-year-old Mack Motzko of Gophers hockey coach Bob Motzko and 24-year-old Sam Schuneman of Maple Grove.

According to the Orono Police Department, laboratory results showed a blood blues alcohol content of 0.175, which is more than twice the Minnesota statutory limit. The vehicle airbag module showed Blue was moving at a speed of 94 to 99 miles per hour seconds before the accident, police said

Police found Blue at a distance of about 3.05 meters from the vehicle thrown in front of the car. He was injured but was conscious when police found him. KMSP-TV reports. Blue repeatedly told officials he was sorry, and admitted he was drunk and guilty, the complaint states.

Hospital staff found THC rubbers in the Blues pocket as well as crushed white pills and green capsules.
