Dream Building Fund: The story of change in Asniac Mnica Liya

[ad_1]

Changing lives is more than a slogan for project manager Mnica Liyau. Her project Impactando Vidas (Influential Life) works with more than 3,000 Peruvian children aged 7-14 and is determined to promote Olympic values such as friendship, excellence and respect in the most vulnerable and poorest areas of the country.

By Humaniuman NGO dedicated to ending violations of children’s rights, Peruvian children face a number of problems such as poverty, child labor and abuse, making childhood far from enjoyable. As Covid-19 sweeps the earth off its feet, the feeling of loneliness and detachment adds to the long list of things to take care of as a child in Peru.

Through the recreational practice of table tennis, Impactando Vidas aims to turn the reality of these children and give public schoolchildren the opportunity to do table-building projects. To create a support system through sport, the project will also provide a table tennis coaching program for teachers, instill young talent in future tournaments, and award international table tennis grants.

These are young lives that will be positively impacted by the project.

Table tennis in video games for Quiroz Palomino Bertin

The 12-year-old had declared himself addicted to video games. After attending Impactando Vidas, Bertin is pleased with his new and healthy lifestyle.

I am no longer addicted to video games. Instead of spending hours in front of the screen, I now play table tennis and develop my racket skills. This is a wonderful sport, it makes me healthy and keeps me motivated.

Kendra Artiaga Bornaquez is happy again

A shy and timid pandemic has severely affected Bornaquez.

I didn’t play any sports for over a year due to quarantine and suffered mentally, emotionally and physically.

Impactando Vidas introduced Bornaquez to table tennis and now, after such a long time, he is happy again and has created a stronger bond with his classmates.

Jeremy Carapo Gonzales focuses better

Table tennis improves my ability to concentrate and helps in my studies. I have become one of the best students in the school and I am now determined to achieve my goal. I want to practice every day and be a better player. I also want a better relationship with my friends.

The 10-year-old proudly declared table tennis the sport of his life. It may be too early to tell, but we know you. You know when you know!

Dana Condori Cahuana finds confidence in herself

Cahuana is small for his age and has always struggled to find a sport that suits his physique. He has found table tennis through Impactando Vidas and is now passionate about his latest discovery.

I feel the power every time I stand in front of a table holding a table tennis racket. I realized that to become a table tennis champion, I didn’t have to be tall, nor did my weight matter.
