Bill Belichick expects to face Ron Rivera’s “hard-nosed” Washington team

Bill Belichick and Ron Rivera have met as head coaches several times over the past decade, twice in the regular season and several times during the preseason.

On Thursday, the Belichick Patriots will face Rivera again to begin the pre-season game, which will be shown exclusively on NBC-4 and NBC Sports Washington at 7.30pm at the Washington Washington Football Kickoff Live at 6.30pm at NBCSW.

But this time with Rivera the boss of the Washington national football team, not the Carolina Panthers.

While Belichick has not yet faced the Rivera-led Washington team, longtime New England head coach expects Burgundy and Gold to come with the same tenacity and style that defined the Rivera Carolina Panthers.

Rivera also specifically mentioned Andy Reid under whom he worked in Philadelphia and Pete Carroll in Seattle with two coaches, whom he also always tries to watch and learn.
