Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa says his contract situation has been “resolved” before the Premier League opening at Manchester United on Saturday.
The 66-year-old did not give details, but announced his commitment to a new season on Elland Road.
He had not signed a new season, which began a few days later.
“The contract situation has already been resolved,” Bielsa said through a translator.
Bielsa joined Leeds in 2018 before leading the club to return to the Premier League after a 16-year absence after winning the 2019-20 EFL Championship.
He praised the club’s hierarchy for their willingness to invest in internships and infrastructure.
“I think this is an exceptional club,” he said. “Leeds has made a significant contribution financially to providing the tools for the leader to prepare for the ideal.”
Leeds ’first season in the Premier League produced ninth place.
