Barcelona have finally been able to register Memphis Depay, Eric Garcia and Rey Manaj, but have not added Sergio Aguero to their roster before the start of the La Liga season.
The financial problems of the Nou Camp club meant that they had not been able to add several of their summer contracts to their official player list before the start of the season. It also meant that they were unable to renew the Lionel Mess contract and did not comply with La Liga’s pay cap rules.
However, in a statement on Saturday, they confirmed that they had reached an agreement with Gerard Pique that his salary would be reduced so they could register for the trio.
They added: “This way, Ronald Koeman can count on all the players available for this Sunday’s Real Sociedad match on the first day of the tournament.”
It should be noted, however, that Aguero, who left Manchester City at the end of last season, has not been added to the list of teams.
Last week, it was revealed that Aguero has been injured until mid-October after a training ground on Sunday.
Barcelona also hopes to reach an agreement with Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba on salary cuts.
