Bhopal: The three-day Reliance Inter-Press Sports Carnival begins Monday at Tantya Tope Stadium.
The first event would be a badminton tournament where journalists from all over the city compete against each other. Pawan Kumar Jain, director of sports and youth well-being, and Mrigendra Singh, patron of the Bhopal Association of Sports Journalists, will open the carnival at 10.30.
The badminton tournament is organized in three categories – singles, singles and mixed matches. The first day only hosts a duel, while the duel is held on the second day of the carnival.
After badminton, there will be table tennis, carrom and chess games, the organizers said. Carnivals could not be held last year due to the pandemic. More than 200 media people had attended the carnival in 2019. Singh said he expects more than 200 attendees this year as well. Registrations will be made on site at the stadium on opening day. The choice will be made with luck, Singh added.
