The bats fail at Wheeler in a loss to the Reds – Phillies Nation

Final result: Red 6, Phillies 1

Phillies Cy Young candidate Zack Wheeler was not at his best. He handed over four well-deserved runs, two of which took home for two of the NL’s top beaters in Joey Votto and Nick Castellanos. Still, six innings and four runs are enough to keep the team in play.

Not with this Phillies crime.

They went 1-15 and the runners to the bottom. Bryce Harper was thrown during the ninth round to argue over balls and strikes. Didi Gregorius ’2-to-4 game with two doubles saved the Phillies from closing for the second time this week. The judging team did no service to the Phillies, but it didn’t matter. They needed much more than a few calls to win.

Wheeler cruised through three, but in four parts the situation changed. Miller looked routine on the right side of the ball, and Miller slowed his journey on the way first. Leading striker Tyler Naquin rushed down the road along the line, resulting in a field hit. After a Castellanos hit, Votto began the sixth home round of his career at Citizens Bank Park and led the Reds to a 3-0 lead.

Castellano drove deep into the left field and made a 4-0 ball game. Eugenio Surez’s two-leading home team in the ninth increased the lead to six. The Reds were left in a big slam from the race.

Friday proved to be the closest match between the Phillies and the Reds throughout the season. The Reds won two games in the series with eight and ten, while the Phillies once won 14 sets.

The forests are currently returning to Dodgers. If they successfully eliminate the four-round deficit and win, the Phillies will end the night in second place and a half game from New York. The Braves and Nationals play in DC after a long rain delay.

Tyler Mahle: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 SO, 108 fields

Mahle gathers a steady season for the Reds. He has thrown seven innings and has not walked any second consecutive trip. Phillies shouted 17 times against Mahlea, but it feels a lot more.

Zack Wheeler: 6 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO, 2 HR, 94 fields

Friday was Wheeler’s first outing, where he has surrendered several home teams in the game since April 20th. He struggled his way through the fourth, but was saved by Mike Moustakas ’fracturing attack error. Still, Wheeler was able to give his team six innings. The team has not won three consecutive Wheeler trips since May.

– I really didn’t feel good all day. [I’m] physically fit but a little lost, ”Wheeler said. “It’s probably the worst I’ve thrown the ball in a long time.”

They are trying to start a new series on their next scheduled trip against the Diamondbacks.
