The Ridge Meadows Hockey Association has been looking for more sustainable ways to dispose of old hockey shirts.

Associations “VP” C “hockey Amelia Norrie said News that some time ago the club felt that old hockey shirts that were no longer in use and those that were too much had to be handed over. The jerseys were in good condition and the association did not want to throw them away. That’s when they found out about charity, A compassionate resource Stock.

Victoria, whose motto is “Shipping compassion around the world,” has donated processed, packaged goods and equipment to charities and groups around the world. The group planned to send hockey equipment to Belarus. The Ridge Meadows Hockey Association contacted and donated all the extra jerseys to charity. Last week, a consignment from the charity, which included the association’s jerseys and other charitable items, arrived in Belarus.

In a message to social media, the charity said: “The Belarusian-Russian container has arrived and dismantled. So grateful! There were a lot of delays and many logistical challenges, but it’s worth it when you see the container arrive. Looks like a few logs fell out when the door opened- otherwise it looks pretty like we sent it! We have heard that several child development centers have already arrived to pick up supplies! They have waited a very long time before they can start using them with all the children and teens they join. “

“We get jerseys every year through McDonalds’ free program, and because of the unpredictability of registrations, too many unused shirts had accumulated, ”Norrie said.

The association donated 300 shirts to charity, and they will soon have more to donate when they receive new shirts next year.

“We always want to support Canadian hockey as much as possible, and without such charities, these products end up in landfills. We will continue to look for sustainable alternatives to disposing of hockey equipment, ”Norrie said. “This is the beginning of something good for us.”
