The Qatar double team wins gold in Arab table tennis

Qatar’s Ahmed al-Mohannadi and Mohamed Abdel Wahab are in action in the men’s singles final at the Arabian Table Tennis Championships in Amman, Jordan, on Monday. The Qatar duo defeated Bahrain’s Mohamed Saleh and Ilyas Ilyas 3-0 (15-13, 11-6, 11-3) in the final. The Qatar contingent added another five medals yesterday, bringing Al Annab’s total to 12 tournament medals. Dual teams Abdulaziz al-Abdullah and Mohamed al-Sulaiti as well as Ahmed Jabbar and Abdullah Abdelwahab won a silver medal in the under-11 and under-19 youth leagues. Sultan al-Kuwari and Ahmed Eid added a third silver. Maryam Ali and Shawq al-Abdullah won bronze in the girls under 15 competition, while Khaled al-Yafei and Ruwad al-Nasser won bronze in the under 15 age group.
