Games24x7 takes a strategic stake in the grassroots cricket network CricHeroes

Games24x7, one of India’s leading multiplayer platforms, has made a strategic investment in Ahmedabad-based CricHeroes, a digital player focused on the grassroots cricket ecosystem.

CricHeroes was launched in 2016 as a scoring app for grassroots cricketers to maintain scores.

CricHeroes is digitizing cricket at the state and district levels, and new players are using their stats from CricHeroes for various official tournaments.

The company has already gained strong credibility in cooperation with several BCCI and ICC member state cricket federations.

For Games24x7, which owns the fantasy sports app My11Circle, the investment is strategic in nature and, most importantly, for many such plans in the coming years, said CFO Rahul Tewari.

Daily fantasy sports offerings are focused on the top of the pyramid. This investment is synergistic because it will help Games24x7 reach the bottom of the cricket pyramid and drive its mission to extend the awesome gaming experience to more and more sports enthusiasts, he said.

Cricket is rapidly evolving into a data-driven sport with an increasing focus on performance analysis, patrolling, and talent management. It is the world’s second-largest sport, with an estimated fans of more than 2.5 billion and more than 300 million active participants over the age of 16.
