Dodgers Spring Training 2022: LA opens Cactus League on February 26th

Dodgers ’preliminary spring training program for 2022 includes 33 games in 32 days, starting Young Mesa in Arizona and ends with the Freeway Series, which ends at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Major League Baseball announced a full-year spring 2022 training program on Wednesday, with each team starting on Saturday, February 26 in either the Arizona Cactus League or the Florida Grapefruit League.

Sloan Park Mesa is Dodgers ’first spring race, on the road against the Cubs, and a steady day all around for baseball and Italian beef enthusiasts.

Dodgers ’first home game is on Sunday, Feb. 27 against Padres, one of 17 Los Angeles matches at Camelback Ranch. Of these, 15 are against Dodgers home games and two against road games White Sox (March 10 and March 19) with whom the Dodgers will share the service.

The 15 teams in the Cactus League are relatively close together, so getting from one park in the Phoenix area to another doesn’t take an awful long time. But if you’re looking for a trip to watch Dodgers games on a minimal trip, the club will play five games at Camelback Ranch over a six-day period from 7-12. March.

Unlike this season, when COVID-19 protocols eliminate split-team games, two games a day will go back to 2021. Dodgers have three such days scheduled on March 5 against the White Sox and Rangers on March 13 in Cleveland and Padres and 21. March in the Red and Rocky Mountains.

The two holidays on March 8 and March 16 mean that in the Arizona portion of the schedule, the Dodgers will play 30 games in 29 days and end the home game against the Reds at Camelback Ranch on March 26.

The annual Freeway series against Angels begins on Sunday, March 27th. First game in Anaheim and last two games at Dodger Stadium. This leaves one day before the regular season opening day, which the Dodgers will be at home against the Rockies on Thursday, March 31st.
