Following a recent historic T20I series win from Australia, the Bangladesh cricket team is preparing for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand and when the ICC T20 World Cup is visible, test team members are currently unused.
The last time the Tigers played a test match against Zimbabwe was in July this year, with visitors registering a comprehensive 220 win. Since then, players who only play the test mode – such as skipper Mominul Haque, Shadman Islam, Abu Jayed and Taijul Islam – are waiting for their chance to perform.
Later this year, Bangladesh will host Pakistan to start a new world championship and start its busy schedule in the longest form. The Tigers will then host Sri Lanka in a two-match test series, which is why it is important that cricketers, who are kept only in the longest form, stay in touch and prepare.
However, it is not easy to keep the concentration untouched, especially without domestic league schedules in the coming days, but the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has planned to keep these cricketers busy during this time.

The BCB has already announced that the High-Performance (HP) team will start a training camp, while Mominul, Shadman and players not involved in the T20I series against New Zealand will play for Team A in Bangladesh.
After a 15-day training camp, the HP team will play three one-day and two four-day games against Team A of Bangladesh in Chattogram.
Left-handed opener Shadman Islam, who beat the virgin in a hundred solitary test in Zimbabwe, was seen training at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
“I heard there will be few matches against High-Performance, and I hope these games help us prepare. The National Cricket League and International Series are also in order, so it’s important for me to prepare for these challenges.
“We didn’t get enough test matches in the past, but we played a few lately. And we also have world championships. I don’t think the numbers are lower, but yes, if we can do well, we might get more test matches in the future,” Shadman told the media yesterday.
For a person like Shadman, who is so far exclusively a Tigers test caller, it’s hard to keep a moment of concentration where everyone whispers from the splendor of the T20 form.
“Obviously I also want to play in all forms. During this intermission, I try to work in my areas of weakness. I hope I can do well and achieve my goals,” he added.
