Colts Carson Wentz’s irritation is good news for the Eagles

Earlier this month, Colts reported that Wentz is away 5 to 12 weeks after surgery. Why does it matter to the Eagles? Philadelphia received a conditional second-round draft as part of a deal that was completed in February. The selection can become the first round selection if Wentz plays more than 75% of the clicks or Wentz plays 70% of the clicks and the Colts qualify for the playoffs.

The Eagles will already have their first two rounds next year: their own and Miami dolphins their trade before 2021 NFL Draft. If Wentz can play and play well, the Eagles will look for three first-round selections in 2022.

That would give the CEO of the Eagles Howie Roseman in the driver’s seat, especially if he decides to pick a quarterback and move from there Jalen Hurts, a second round selection in 2020 which sits on top of the depth chart after Wentzs’ departure.
