Becomes the first Indian couple to win the title on the Pro tour with a staggering victory at the summit

Mr Sathiyan and Manika Batra could not have asked for a better start in preparation for the next Olympic round.

Sathiyan and Manika announced that they will be competing as a duo until the 2024 Paris Olympics, making it a memorable trip at the World Table Tennis Contendent in Budapest on Friday when they won the crown of the mixed game and played 11-9, 9 -11, 12-10, 11-6 won Hungarians Nandor Ecseki and Dora Madarasz in the finals on Friday. They became the first Indian couple to win the Pro Tour from a mixed paddle.

Barely challenged

Sathiyan and Manika combined perfectly throughout the tournament. When the Sathiyans have skillful receptions, an offensive front and agile Legs supported by Manikas attacking the front of the palm and pushing the rear hand and striking far into the pimple with rubber, they were hardly challenged. In four rounds, they had lost only three games.

After the summit, it was clear that Madarasz was the weakest link.

He doesn’t have any special armor to beat the points, which puts more pressure on Ecsek and he withered under it and made quite a few mistakes.

In the third game, the Hungarians had a game score of 10-9, but they were unable to turn. It was the only time they were close to profit.

Sathiyan and Manika each received 400 points and a total of $ 3,000.

It was awesome. We didn’t expect to be so good! We only had a day to practice.

@ My speed on the table and Manikas ’smart gameplay and his much improved forechest made it possible to win the tournament, Sathiyan said.

He also said that winning World No. 7 and the Slovak duo Lubomir Piste and Barbora Balazova in the quarterfinals was a moral booster.

Next, we will play at the WTT Doha event and the Asian TT Championships, he said.

Singles loss

Late Thursday, the Manikas doubles campaign ended in the semifinals when he lost to Russia to Elizabeth Abrahamian, who placed 415th in the world.

The 18-year-old, reigning European youth (u-19) champion played an offensive game in which he defeated sixth Manika Batran, 12-10, 11-9, 12-10, 10-8.

Manika is expected to return to New Delhi on Saturday.
