Celebrate at the Park to celebrate the closing of the community volunteers

This is the perfect timing as I am happy to tell you about some activities and events next month!

September begins with a new coffee morning, but you can take a walk around Cary Park, play games, play table tennis or get Netfriends to support you digitally with your laptop or phone.

This starts on Thursday, September 2 from 10.30am to 12.30pm and is the first Thursday of each month at the Cary Park Tennis Club Clubhouse.

There is also the Jumble Trail on Saturday 11 September from 10am to 1pm where you can raise funds for yourself or your favorite charity from your own front door.

If you’re coming to see all the treasures on offer, you can use the map and go on adventures in the immediate area and meet lots of wonderful people and see places you may not know about.

Then there’s the Party in the Park – Ellacombe Park – on Sunday, September 12, a joint event of the Ellacombe Community Partnership and the Torbay Community Development Trust.

It’s a great community celebration, and thanks to all the amazing volunteers who helped with shopping, etc. During the pandemic, games, sports and fun for everyone, including a free picnic at noon.

The evening walk group will continue the first and third Monday meetings of September at 7pm at Babbacombe Cliff Railway Caf and the second and fourth Monday meetings of the month at 7pm in Debenhams for a walk along the seafront.

Finally, Id wants to present to anyone who wants to be a volunteer walking buddy, be a helping hand to those who want to continue to go out, and help people regain their self-confidence and give them something to look forward to.
