Turin defender Lyanco will visit a doctor’s office on Monday as he moves to the Premier League with Southampton, Sky Sky says.
The 24-year-old defender, a dual citizen of Brazil and Serbia, would fill the gap for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team when Jannik Vestergaard joined Leicester City on the eve of the 2021/22 season.
Lyanco represented Serbia as a U19 player, but has since played at the Brazilian U20 and U23 levels, also as part of the Toulon tournament win in 2019.
He began his career in Brazil with Sao Paulo before moving to Turin in 2017 and secured a more regular first team role after the last two seasons after a borrower with Bologna.
Torino did not include him in their Serie A match, which opened on Saturday, which they lost at home 2-1 to Atalanta.
Lyanco is also understood to have aroused interest from another Serie A party in Udine and their sister club, Watford.
He became Hasenhuttl’s sixth summer contract after the additions of Romain Perraud, Tino Livramento and Adam Armstrong, the arrival of the loan to Armando Broja and a free transfer that brought Theo Walcott back to St Mary’s permanently.
