White Sox vs. Blue Jays – Game summary – August 23, 2021

TORONTO-Pinch runner Breyvic Valera made the tie on the wild field in the eighth set, and the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Chicago White Sox 2-1 on Monday night.

Valera ran to Reese McGuire when the Blue Jays catcher knocked out Craig Kimbrel (2-4) to start the inning. Valera finished second in a wild third attack on Bo Bichette, advanced third in the ground attack and scored when Kimbrel opened another wild field, this time for Teoscar Hernndez.

It was a huge one of the best closers in baseball, Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said.

Tim Mayza (3-1) won the perfect eighth set to win, with Jordan Romano finishing 12th in 13 situations.

White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson sat for the third consecutive game due to leg tenderness. Anderson may return on Tuesday, manager Tony LaRussa said.

Toronto ruined Chicago Lance Lynn’s strong outing and handed the White Sox their fourth loss in five games.

Lynn was frustrated when she gave up the game’s binding hit to Blue Jays’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

That was stupid, Lynn said. There is no other way to say it. I told Tony that when I got in, it was all in me. I tried to throw the ball and it ran back to the plate. There was no intention to strike.

You can’t let Vladdy hit you 3-0 on the field, no matter what, Lynn added.

Seemingly upset on the 3-0 field, LaRussa was seen talking angrily with abductor Seby Zavala at the end of the inning. However, LaRussa did not want to discuss his reaction after the game.

It’s one of those situations where it’s right ahead and everyone can decide what a comment would be if I decided to comment, but I’m not going to comment, LaRussa said.

The Blue Jays, who came to lose seven out of nine, improved to 9-14 in a single set of games.

Lynn allowed one run and four hits in seven innings, but disregarded the decision for the fifth consecutive start. The right-hander has not won a road victory in Milwaukee on July 25th.

Lynn lowered her ERA to 2.20 and reached the inside shift threshold she needed to become an AL leader in this class.

The White Sox opened the score with three straight singles to sixth Blue Jays right-wing Alek Manoah, including the RBI, who was hit by field player Andrew Vaughn.

McGuire led to the lower half with a double, but was thrown out in an attempt to advance third on the Bichettes bottom ship to second baseman Csar Hernndez. Bichette advanced on Earth and scored a goal in the middle of Guerreros.

Manoah gave one run and five hits in six innings.

Blue Jays: OF George Springer (sprained left knee) ran on the field, hit the cage and performed a batting practice against RHP Joakim Soria (right middle finger). … INF Cavan Biggio examined his left hand as he injured his left shoulder by diving the ball in a rehabilitation game at Triple-A in Buffalo on Friday. Biggio was placed on the injured list on August 3 due to back strain.

White Sox: When Anderson was gone, Danny Mendick started a short break.
