Air quality will seriously affect Wolf Packs ’ability to prepare for the opening of Cal’s season

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Nevada national football team is not the second time in so many weeks Practice at Wolf Pack Park.

Instead, the team is training in Stanford, California. Smoke continues to flow through northern Nevada, preventing the team from preparing for a week 1 match against Calia. The game is on September 4th.

We have very limited options, Nevada head coach Jay Norvell said where his team can train.

It doesn’t matter the direction: north, east, south, west – the smoke from various forest fires in California has affected everyone, but especially the Nevada football team. Outside of rehearsals, Norvell has had to beep and move his team to a safer situation: the cardinal’s campus.

Norvell says his strong relationship with Stanford head coach David Shaw has made it possible to work silver and blue.

Without this opportunity to go to Stanford, we really wouldn’t have had a productive camp at all, Norvell said. We got so many reps when we went there. It’s just not fair for these kids to play a football match if they’re not properly prepared. We were just very grateful that we had the opportunity to put these practices into practice.

Norvell says he looked at all the options. Indoors, such as convention centers, there is no suitable surface for perfect contact.

Each representative matters at the opening of the season in less than two weeks. Norvell adds that training on the road has become good.

Our meetings were amazing, he said of his time at Stanford last week. We had some of the best appointments. The children told personal stories about their family and the loss of their family members. We all got to know each other much better.

Nevada will train in Stanford until Saturday before estimating where to work next week.
