Chippewa Steel announced a change of coaching / head of hockey operations

Chippewa Falls, Wis. (Chippew Steel Press Release) -Steel has announced that Mike Janda has been relieved of his duties due to recent news from US Hockey. In light of this decision, Steel is excited to announce that Brad Stepan will move to the office as head of hockey operations.

We couldn’t be more excited about Brad joining our organization. He brings tremendous knowledge and commitment to our organization, but most importantly, hockey. Adding Brad to our team is great at all levels of the organization, and we couldn’t think of a better fit. says Kasik.

Stepan brings a lifelong hockey experience as a player, a talent assessor and a father. The Minnesota-born native was booked by the New York Rangers during the 1985 fifth round of the NHL and played for the organization for three seasons. On the ice, he has researched and coached numerous levels of hockey, including Rosemount High School (USHS-MN) head coach for seven seasons, a North American hockey scout, and three seasons as a scout for the Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL). In addition, Brads ’son Derek is currently a member of Carolina Hurricanes, starting his 12th NHL season.

Steels is looking for a head coach and the information will be released later.

The home opener will be on Friday, September 10th.
